China require some beauty ingredients/products to be tested on animals. L'Occitane products may be subjct to animal testing as L'Occitane want to get in on the Chinese market. Ricky Gervais tweeted a link to an article on this recently.

Thank you for posting this, I wouldn't of known otherwise. I have used a L'Occitane hand cream since christmas, on the back it does state that it wasn't tested on animals, i usually always check for that sort of thing anyway, but now i know the company does allow it on some products i won't even be using the products that aren't. I find the whole thing repulsive!
