Can you pay to go in the Olympic Park without a ticket?

Options
Sorry this seems such a basic question, but I can't find the answer anywhere?! No chance of them fixing the problems with the ticket website before the games are over so would settle for being able to watch events at the Olympic park on the big screen...

If you want to watch on a big screen then Victoria and Hyde Parks are free

  • That's annoying... I did see a story on the BBC yesterday about a guy queueing up for 4 hours and getting a ticket for the hockey? I can't find any information on whether or not that is possible either...

    Hyde Park here I come!!!

he'll probably have had an Olympic park day pass (which he would have bought ages ago, I haven't seen any availability for them on the London 2012 site for weeks). Once inside the park, there is a ticket office there for re-sales. But you'd need to have an Olympic park day pass first.

Day passes were available in the first week but won't be next week because the athletics will bring another 80,000 people into the park

don't give up on the ticketing site. I managed to get cat D athletics this morning. Tickets tend to be added between 11pm -midnight and then around 6am-8am. I used a free ticket alert that sounded an alarm on my computer when tickets became available (http://checker.benmarshinteractive.com/) and I also followed @2012ticketalert on twitter. Took a couple of days as I was only after one particular date but I am really pleased (and amazed) to have finally got them!

Have you looked at attending one of the Paralympic events? There's still a decent amount of tickets left for some interesting sports. Much more reasonably priced then the current tickets are selling for.

Even better, the venues at the Paralymics are going to have blocks of unreserved seating so if you have a day pass you can pop into anywhere subject to capacity.

Really? That's great, will have to check out what else is on that day.
