Wonga make it perfectly clear on their website that they will not lend to someone with no income.
Hence it is more than likely that your son put false information about his income in his application.
If you have solid evidence that he declared that he was unemployed then you would surely have a case against Wonga. But you won't have, because they aren't interested in lending to people who are certain to default.0 -
Just a quick update on this one.
I have been in to my Natwest branch. Officially there is not a great deal they can do however did take on my Visa Retail Dispute anyway. I should hear back today. Failing this they have advised me to contact their financial hardship team for assistance given i'm £700 down on my wages. Just awaiting a callback at this stage.
I have also contacted Wonga who told me on the phone that they would consider a refund of the collections made if I can show that I was in conversation with Payplan before the collections were made. Payplan happily provided this and the details were sent to Wonga today. I'm not holding my breath on this however.
Just a waiting game now unfortunately. Bank balance is zero and 26 days until I am paid again.0
