Council Tax claim on self assessment

Hi can anyone help, im self employed as a pub licencee and work for a holding company do i just get a wage for keeping the pub open whilst its in between sale! Now part of thr contract states i have to live on site and i have to pay the coucil tax for the living quarters, surely this meas i should be able to offset the council tax to my final tax bill?
