Returning glasses - Boots

I bought two pairs of glasses on the buy one get one free deal at Boots a month ago (had my eye test on the 2nd July and paid for them then, didn't pick them up until the following week.)

One of the pairs (the pair I wear the most and like the most) are not well made. The plastic coating over the whole frame that gives it it's shine has started to peel off and I keep finding flaky bits of black plastic on my nose!

I plan to take them back but am considering asking for a refund instead of an exchange as a) there weren't many to choose from and I only really liked these ones in my price range and b) I don't want the same pair again as they are not up to scratch build-quality wise!

I'm wondering what the liklihood of them allowing me a full refund would be. Problem is I will struggle at work without glasses and if they take them off me and offer me a full refund it'll be a time again before I can get a new pair...

Where do I stand in getting a refund, also getting a refund on the pair that are fine, but were bought at the same time? Will they let me return that pair too as they were part of the deal?

I would have thought that if you wanted a refund you would have to return both pairs. You could always be cheeky and ask if you can keep the better pair but I doubt that they will agree.

Yeah I'm wondering, especially as they won't be of any use to anyone else... but I'm more concerned they won't let me return BOTH pairs because one is not faulty. Which would leave me with one pair of glasses for a cost of £80, when I paid £80 originally for two! V. annoying.
