I remortgaged with Halifax last week from RBS, it all gone through fine, but today i checked my bank and i have a F/flow payment from RBS for £780, can anyone tell me what this payment is for? its over £100 more than my usual mortgage payments so i cant connect it to that. I have googled it with no luck and for the life of me i cant find my mortgage details i had with RBS so i dont want to contact them and sound like a half wit trying to explain with no account number etc.
I was hoping someone on here might be able to shed some light on the matter as it may be common when you move your mortgage but its the first time i have ever done it.
Thankyou

Maybe settlement balance on old mortgage.
Did you use a solicitor to effect the remortgage?0 -
Thankyou for the reply, we just used a mortgage advisor in the Halifax and they sorted out the rest, we just signed a few forms sent from a solicitors, they sent us a cheque for £27 though for moneys owed to us from RBS.
I just dont want to put the money into my savings account if its going to Halifax as a payment or something in the next few days0 -
It is likely to be the balance up of the redemption figure. I would expect you paid a payment on the old RBS mortgage and this was built in to their redemption figure + a few days and hence the extra £100.
I would expect this to be yours, altohugh RBS will be able to identify you if you call up or pop into a branch..
Still, a nice surprise to get...I am a Mortgage Broker
