I know provident can be paid off early, the APR is already included, so we don't really save any as it's a set thing, ie borrow £1k repay £1650 no matter what. Blackheath is set to, thing is that it has a guarentor attached to that and if OH does'nt pay the then guarentor has to.

make sure you pay your essential things first,i.e rent poll tax electric and gas.provident can wait,i used to know someone who worked for them collecting,and if she was offered say £2.00 instead off what she normally got from the customer she was quite happy,as long as she was collecting something off them,so try and pay them less for a few weeks and catch up on your poll tax0

i just wanted to say that you (and your OH) need to stop worrying about the impact of an IVA or DMP on your credit rating(s).
Your credit ratings are probably shot to pieces anyway but even if they aren't you both need to stop relying on credit to live- easy to say and not so easy to do i know but you will never be debt free if you don't adjust your thinking.
