Ironically I have the highest disposable income now compared to the last 9 years.

I'd have put money on RM being the one to announce this.... and of course for there then to have been a flood of protest about it from the usual suspects.
C'mon derv et al. Take young percy to task! :D

LOL. Good spot JB. Derv, et al. won't say a word, even though they swear up and down that they don't attack me because I'm doing better than them financially (their words) it's because I mention my finances on the board. The fact that loads of people do the same without incident doesn't really led itself to their lie.

Still no posts from DervProf et al remonstrating with Percy for 'bragging' (their words not mine) about his finances on the internet.

I don't understand, have they no integrity?

I am going to say what I think some people will be thinking but won`t put down in words.
You come across as a know it all. Percy comes across as a nice young gentleman.
If you want to have a go please do but I am going out for the rest of the day and I will not be getting into a discussion with you, as you are also like a dog with a bone, you never let go.
Bye have a nice day everyone.

Some people just don't like to hear the truth, they want to sit in a like-minded group and validate their shared opinions. If you don't like your belief system being critiqued then perhaps you should post in HPC? I believe that they ban people with a view contrary to yours.

    Have a nice day. :)

I fail to see where the cheer is in my opening post! Anyway, if it's a way to dismiss reality...fair do's!

It's become a pretty standard straw-man on here to label anyone who thinks house prices should be lower as wanting economic misery and being purely in it for their own benefit. Obviously some people's motivation will be selfish and some posters haven't reflected well on the 'bears' in general. That said, a huge part of many 'bulls' motivation in wanting better house prices is thinking it means an increase in their personal wealth.
Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...

It seems a reasonable bet that disposable incomes will continue to be under pressure for a good few years yet. It's the 'price to be paid' for our pre-crunch splurges, or so we are told.

The question is how do people respond to this squeeze. Eat out less; buy fewer clothes and other non-essentials? That can be seen as a downside because it reduces demand in the economy.

However, as an upside, maybe we will see more repair services springing up in our towns and villages. A more sustainable economy perhaps? That might be wishful thinking.

Best wishes for your wedding on Saturday 4th August - and will your disposable income be affected?

Nothing major, we hav been sensible with costs so it is mostly paid for already, with that work on the house and the wedding have pushed the credit card balance up but that shouldn't be too hard to clear down again.
