MC Trustees "recruiting"

This company yesterday advertised in the Metro newspaper, West Midlands edition.

Apparently they have offices in Hampton in Arden near Solihull.

Advertising 6 jobs:

4 x Client Liaison
1 x Finance Administrator
1 x Receptionist

I've just spent half hour writing a covering letter only for yahoo to tell me that the email address they supply ( recruitment@mctrustees.co.uk ) doesn't exist! Plus they appear to have had a very similar registered name recently. Also having searched on companies check it reads CASH AT BANK £0, ASSETS £0.

I'm seriously miffed at wasting my time writing a covering letter.

Is this another bogus company? They have a contact form on their website but NO SPACE TO ENTER ANY DETAILS of why you're contacting them!?

What do you think? Here's their website: www.mctrustees.co.uk

Also this bit is a bit bizarre! :

Clients We have clients from a wide range of businesses and professions. They include;
A famous footballer, now a manager who had been with us for 15 years
An irascible hotelier who has been with us for 23 years
A rock star who has been with us for 20 years
A member of the House of Lords who has been with us for 22 years
A renowned opera singer who has been with us for 15 years
A high court judge who has been with us for 12 years
A used car dealer who has been with us for 27 years
An electronics entrepreneur who has been with us for 29 years

BTW the job advert ONLY supplied that email address, NO REFERENCE at all was given to the company's address and it solely asked for applications to be sent to the email address, which from what I can see doesn't exist.

The website gives this address:

MC Trustees
Enterprise House
Meadow Drive
Hampton in Arden
West Midlands B92 OBD

    "IRASCIBLE hotelier!"
This has got to be a scam, no proper company would ever talk about their own clients in that way.

No idea what they propose to get out of it, maybe email leads when people contact them asking why they can't submit the application?

I was going to see if anybody had had any dealings with them first. The bit about clients on their website is ludicrous, I don't think there's much point phoning them now though.

    BIZARRE to say the least!

If I'm not mistaken, they frequently advertise around Solihull, usually targeting the students.

I don't know of anyone who actually got a job, although they do seem to take a number of people onto free trials.

Thanks, this looks fishy as hell! Just googled their postcode and it's just a load of residential houses in suburbia, looks absolutely nothing like a place of work in the slightest.

    B92 0BD

"Enterprise House" it would appear is just an average sized residential house.

I don't understand what they are trying to do, but it is cruel to raise people's hopes by advertising non-existent jobs.

yes I agree very true, I've just found them listed under this guise.

Given the £ figures quoted they certainly look very small time & that list of "clients" seems highly dubious.

Martin Cadman appears to be involved with a lot of companies, many of which have been dissolved. The main one seems to be a holding company called Old Station Road Holdings Ltd.

it's a shame that newspapers don't better vet those that place these adverts, I'm not saying anything indepth but at least see if the company is bonafide and/or see if the wording/claims of the ad seem remotely plausible.

Well I guess ca$h is king!
