James,

Your organization has failed to action a notice of disassociation within the SLA timeframe you quote.

I logged one on your website over two weeks ago.

I logged one on your website over one week ago

I sent one through the post over one week ago

I called your organisation every single day for the last 8 days. I was told every day, for eight days running "It has been escalated and will be actioned within 24 hours".

I request a callback from someone senior and was told EVERY DAY FOR THE LAST 8 DAYS someone will get back to me within 24 hours... no one has.

I am now filing a complaint with the ICO - Your organisation were made aware of the fact that my mother has no fixed abode and I need to apply for a mortgage before the end of the month to save a house purchase falling through.

I was told over a fortnight ago that this is fine and the disassociation would be actioned well before the end of the month. With this I instructed my solicitor to do the conveyancing.

Now you've failed to get the disassociation done, failed to return my calls, and lied to me every step of the way (Experian have, that is). This has resulted in the purchase falling through, £1,200 of conveyancing fees being laid to waste, and my mother having no fixed abode.

GET THE DISASSOCIATION DONE TODAY. The ICO are already aware, all Experian can do now is hope to save itself from further embarrassment when this comes to adjudication.

By comparison I requested a disassociation from Equifax recently. It was actioned within 24 hours. You've so far taken SIXTEEN TIMES LONGER Than this to do NOTHING.

The only information I can provide you publicly to save compromising my identity is EMR8141509X

GET IT DONE TODAY

Haven't you got anything to say for yourself James? Don't even want to attempt redeeming your organization and it's actions?

Experian generally. I doubt this post made a difference, probably a coincidence.

Absolutely shocking organisation to deal with, just a bunch of policy-spouting jobsworth pen pushers who don't actually understand anything about the industry they work in, don't know how credit reporting works, all they know how to do is blindly and ignorantly spout the company phrase book and that's an end of it. They don't care if the !!!! they're spouting is incorrect, inaccurate, lies, causing financial loss, etc. It seems Experian are staffed solely by folk who work there for one reason and one reason only - to get paid.

They don't do any more than is absolutely necessary to save being issued with a P45 and to hell with the consequences their inaction has on their data subject's personal and financial lives.

Equifax were absolutely marvelous however. They actioned a notice of disassociation in... get this... 25 minutes.

    Nop.

Spoke too soon. Experian emailed me to confirm that the associations had been removed.

Well, they'd like to think so. They'd gone and removed the associations from my associate's credit file but not mine.

Well Experian, it was me who applied for the NOD, so it's my file you should be looking at. In fact, removing them from my associate's file without him requesting you do so in and of itself constitutes a breach of data protection.

So still, if I were to apply for anything they'd still see his shabby credit file, despite Experian having emailed me confirming they'd sorted it out.

Seriously, what's wrong with these people? Were they dropped on their heads as children? Are they alcoholics who were hungover during their training?

Who knows. They aren't fit for the positions they hold, that much is certain.

Shocking - although the rant was less than I expected..

Associates do not generally make a huge difference with a bank, especially not if applying for secured finance with a lender and recall a fair size deposit from a previous post...

You may have to circumvent Experian as I think time is sensitive and approach a sympathetic lender??

Good luck - it does depend on lender selection though!!
