Help: Advice Needed

Hello! My Aunt is 60 in May and needs to decide what to do with her pension. Her pension fund totals just over £36k and she's already decided to take the 25% cash and invest it in NSI pension bond thingies. The company she's with (windsor Life) has a limited number of anniutys she can buy, none of which will rise with inflation which is what she wants. Can anyone offer advice or shall I persuade her to pay out for an IFA?

She should see an IFA. Its a no brainer. If the IFA can beat the income from Windsor Life then shes a winner. If they cant, she is still a winner as she knows she has got a good rate.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. but dont rely on the FSA tables. They use out of date data and a number of assumptions. Typically, the real quotes will change the order of the best companies around and the figures will change with them. They are a guide only.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Here's another online broker where you can input the info and get an idea:
https://www.h-l.co.uk
They will contact you afterwards to see if you want them to help, but you don't have to go with them if you don't want to.
Does Aunty have any health issues, or is she a smoker? If so she should look into impaired life annuities, which pay more.Trying to keep it simple...

I just did a test on the HL site against real figures and of the top four companies on real figures, only 2 were in HLs top4. I am going to guess that HL are using a panel and not whole of market. Or it could be that some of the companies dont "plugin" to their quote system. The latter being more likely considering the companies missing.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
