Free Travelcard but event finishes at midnight

So the free travelcard included with the tickets permits free travel zones 1-9 on the day of the event. I'm going to see baskeball and the final games starts at 10.15 and finishes midnight or later. Therefore will I have to buy a new underground ticket for my return home, as by then I will be travelling on the "next day" and not the date printed on the ticket? Anyone know the answer or where I can enquire? Have looked on the 2012 website, but nothing there.

I believe that the travel cards are valid until 2AM the following day. Someone will either confirm or discount what I've said.

Also, I've experienced 2 Olympic Park venues so far..........the Greenwich Arena and Olympic Park. At both venues, there are train staff telling people with travelcards to walk straight through the barriers!

They are more concerned with keeping the flow of crowds moving than they are at checking whether you have a valid ticket to travel.;)

Hi i had tickets for the boxing that finished at 23:30 on Sat and i had to travel to the other side of London (Hounslow West) i got there after 1am and used the ticket (no probs) i also then got a night bus nearer 2am and was allowed on (no questions).

Travelcards are valid on the day of purchase and until 04:30 (start of journey time, so e.g., you can change from a Javelin at St P. for a train from there providing you left Stratford before 04:30) the next day.

I've used travel cards many times after midnight. No probs. And I would be very surprised if any one got pulled up on that with an Olympic ticket - and if you do, go to the papers, I would consider that scandalous !
