1st wedding anniversary - gift for hubby

I came across this whilst searching for ideas for a gift for my hubby.

Really want to stick with the 'paper' tradition, but unsure whether something like this is suitable for a male.

What do you think?

  • What about a magazine subscription for one of his interests? Like golf, photography, cars ect?

You will know your hubby more than anyone but my OH would not appreciate the yearbook at all!

  • If only it were that simple....

He very very rarely buys any magazines and a few years ago I mentioned the subscription idea as a xmas pressie and he wasn't keen at all.

Thanks for the reply though. I was a bit unsure about the year book. Proving difficult to know what to get keeping with the paper theme.

hmmmmmm.... not so sure about that to be honest! I think one partner keeping it and then giving it after 10 or 20 years could be special... but my OH probably wouldn't be that bothered about getting the empty book and would be very unlikely to keep it going!

I would go with comedy or gig tickets personally - which are obvs paper. Or a voucher for a day's adventure activity, something along those lines.
  • I did a paint ball voucher one year for valentines day, £20 and he let it expire, lol.

    Appreciate the ideas.

Think I've sorted it out. Found a good website and created a little personal book to keep with the paper tradition and then ordered some comedy tickets for a few days after our wedding anniversary.

    Phew....

I made my DH a calendar for our 1st anniversary, from snaps that were taken at the wedding.

Similar, you can order diaries from photobox that are a week per page and you can put a photo on each page. They're nice.

I'm learning origami and will present him something I've made. Very personal IMO and I know hubby would appreciate it. We will do something special together on the day too (1 month to go!)

  • It would be lovely if you could get the year book and fill it out in secret each year, how brilliant of an anniversary present would that be when we're all old and wrinkly!!
  • I saw THIS and totally love the idea - so did it myself with Paint.net (a free image-making program), a large-scale print from Tesco and a frame from ebay - £20 cheaper!

I did it as a wedding gift, but it might be suitable for a first anniversary, if you still have the vows somewhere!
    Life on a shoestring!
