Critters!

Options
Hi - me again guys.
As I'm here, does anyone know how to get double-sided tape residue off pvc window frames please?

I also want to put a piece tightly around the window itself, almost like an insect screen, so that I can open the windows to get the air in, without letting the flying critters in too. Any ideas please?
Thanks for your time.
Much Love,
Tiff xxx

Hi, Tiff! Have you tried WD40. Try on an inconspicuous part first, though, so that you're sure that it doesn't affect the PVC.

Sorry, don't understand what you're trying to do for your insect screen

What type of thing are you thinking of making the screen of? It might be easier to make a frame you can remove (or slide) when opening the windows. You could attach net (old net curtains might look pretty) directly to that with staples or glue...

When my sister lived near a local tip, wasn't nice of course but temporary, we made a wooden frame and put some net over it which then sat over the window when it was open. Just put it out of the way when window was closed. I plan using the same thing this year if we get as many wasps as last year!

Any furniture polish will bring sticky off almost everything. Just spray and leave or a minute and then it'll rub off.

You can make a screen with net curtaining, just thread two garden canes cut to size through it top and bottom. Stick two suction hooks onto the window frame and hang over the top, the cane on the bottom will stop it blowing about in the wind.

    Hi guys!
I was hoping to use a simple net curtain around the inside window frame to let fresh air in but keep the wasps out due to my allergy.
Or any other critters come to think of it.
When it gets hot, I want to be able to get any cool breeze going by. Adding frames etc is beyond me as I'm newly disabled with arthritis, plus I'm technically challenged.;)
I thought about velcro too but it says not to use on pvc plus it'd stand out being black.
Any ideas folks? Thanks for your time.:T

You can get white sticky back velcro, I've stuck it to UPVC before with no problems. Think I got the last lot from B&Q

Hi I did this with old nets, dyed them black then they dont look silly and keeps the room cool in the summer ,stuck velcro every few yards along, then put velcro on the window frames and viola! my own insect screen.
I hope to do all my windows eventually as it is time consuming ,but once its done thats it.
Come christmas time I use the velcro for my lights.

Nail varnish remover but wash the windows after

The OH used to stick notes on the glass of the backdoor to remind him of things and I tried everything to get the residue off and this was the only thing that worked!
