Business mileage relief HELP !

Hello,

Im currently in full time employment, my company pays me fuel allowance from home to work also any business mileage i do in work.

I do not get car allowance, however i get 0.16p home to work and 0.33 business mileage. I understand i can claim tax relief because it is below 0.40p a mile? i.e. if i do 1000 miles in a year i can claim 1000 * 0.07 = £70.

My worplace is classed as a "site" because we are only contracted to work there on a duration of 1 year, therefore it is "un taxable" fuel allowance, does this mean i can claim the home - work mileage also?

Can some one please explain to me like i am a 5 year old how this works??

Thanks,

Mav
