Tesco self scan

was in a Metro store today that I regularly use, got my shopping then made my way to self scan as normal, all till points had the coupon slot covered and signs placed saying cash only .... can't even scan extra points vouchers


I hope this isn't going to be applied in all stores

What I have also noticed in my store is that they have removed the price checkers off the walls ,so they can tell u crap when items dont scan "Sorry Madam the item is not for Sale" or "Sorry item comes up not found?!"When I enquired they said they would not be replacing them as you can ask to scan them at the till...yeah right the huffing and puffing that goes on when you do ask the ca to do it ...mmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnn:eek:

Report them to head office, I bet they haven't got authorisation to do this. Ask a couple of friends to complain as well.

Thanks Almond, I'm far too much of a coward to do that though I'm not even brave enough to hand coupons over to cashiers unless *shock/horror* I've bought the item

Yes you do - you just have to ask the sa manning the tills and they'll do it for you.
They can also give you the schools vouchers too.

well I phoned this morning and I was told that during peak times sometimes they make the tills cash only to try and speed things up again and assured me that it wasn't a permanent thing *phew*

I work for tesco and quite often the self scan tills jam up when coupons are accepted (it requires a new download of software) and take hours to come back online again, if you ask the CA they will put the coupons on a normal till, and if you wanted to use card could also save the transaction and out it through on a card. Hope this helps!
