I realise it's not to everyone's taste, but I was brought up on the stuff and I love it, but I only ever get it from the chippy.
So my question is, if I buy a tin of pressed cod roe, how do I make batter and fry it?
I've never made batter before. We don't have a deep fat fryer or a chip pan, could I shallow fry it in batter instead?
My nanna used to do it deep fried and she also did corned beef ones and froze them all. How would I defrost them? She passed away when I was little so I've no one to ask now!
Thanks all

100g (4oz) plain flour(flour all purpose)
pinch of salt
1 egg
300ml (1/2 pint) milk
This is what I use for a basic batter, if you do not have a fryer then you can deep fry in a wok or similar1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480

Thank you.
Would I be able to cook them and then freeze them? How would I defrost? Can I cook from frozen?
Sorry for all the dumb questions! What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
Hi
I have never tried to freeze anything like that before as I think things like batter taste best from fresh.
I would think you could though, perhaps not give them as long frying the first time almost like just blanching them and then do them from frozen if the were small enough they should cook through OK from frozen.1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480
