    Wycombe Swan Theatre,

This wonderfully funny and much loved farce is brought to life on stage once again – this time with a difference. It still features hilarious comic situations involving mistaken identity, doors and vicars, set in the village of Merton-!!!-Middlewick, but the comedy will be heightened by the fact that the cast are all under four feet tall! See How They Run is the debut theatre tour of Warwick Davis and his Reduced Height Theatre Company. Warwick is the most successful short actor in Britain with a career spanning over three decades. He's best known for his roles in Willow, Star Wars, the Harry Potter films and most recently on our TV screens in Life’s Too Short, Doctor Who and An Idiot Abroad 3.
So for a memorable evening of theatre that won’t be short of laughs, book your tickets now!

    It's April. APRIL!
Fools and folly abound with showers dashing our spirits at every turn. BUT DO NOT DESPAIR for a collection of people oddities has been arranged to lift those foolish meanderings and chuck them into a furnace much like those photos you want nobody to see.

Cabaret Regale, presented to you by Dancehouse Theatre and Mondo Arts, launches these delectable treats of live entertainment into your glassy balls using it's underground kabaret cannon of fun.

    SHIRLEY AND SHIRLEY

Shirley & Shirley are writer/ performers Joanna Carolan and Pascale Wilson and writer/ director Michael Pearce.

Shirley And Shirley filter our world through fabulously twisted minds and deliver a 'mash-up' of character, physical and sketch comedy. Be prepared for inspired comic observation, top class creations, and wonderfully dark ideas.

    TAM HINTON

Responsible for many peculiar plays and one-man shows, from his secret lair somewhere in the Northeast, he produces his special works.

Known for pieces such as 'The Naked Soul of Kirk Godless' (which took the 'best comedy' award at the Buxton Festival in 2006), Mr. Hinton paints dark, amusing tales for one and all to muse and gawk upon.

    JACKIE HAGAN

Described by some as a "Council State Rainbow Brite", Jackie Hagan is a Manchester-based performance poet, originally from Skem. Awarded Best Emerging Poet 2006 by The Poetry Kit, The Wisdom of the Jumble Sale [Flapjack Press, 2009], is Jackie's second poetry collection, following Shut Your Eyes and Put Out Your Hand [Citizen32, 2007]. She has also edited several poetry anthologies and guest edited Citizen32 magazine.

Having recently finished her debut of "Some People Have Too Many Legs", part of the 2014 'Flying Solo' event, Jackie Hagan bring quips, tales but no puppy dogs to the stage.

    MR. MAGIC

To the point with his name, and to the point with his magical wares. A selection of tricks, illusion and subversive mind deceptions until your brainbox goes "no", and "no" and finally "Whu? Tell me how and what?!"

    SKETCHY THEATRE

Sketchy Theatre are a comedy trio struggling with life post university. They decided to morph their tears, frustration and disappointment into writing and performing the epitome of tragic characters and awkward situations, penetrated with lashings of innuendo.

Sketchy Theatre are Ilaria Passeri, Dave Wake and Ciaran Mullins. They are a Manchester based sketch comedy group bringing a fresh and slightly dark look to comedy.

    The faNTAstiCO BARNARDO

Several weeks ago our technicians were exploring the basement of the theatre to see what nostalgic pieces of old sets can be burnt on our bimonthly effigy to our dark gods of cabaret. Whilst there, we found the old lost property box from 2009... and wouldn't you know it, a performer had trapped themselves in it. Probably after a sandwich, the poor thing.

Thus, to reintegrate him back into society we are allowing him on stage. We don't know much about him apart from his name which is stitched into his underwear. And he's very bendy, and dances around a lot.

    THE BACCHUS CO-OPERATIVE

The Bacchus Co-operative is a conglomeration of forward thinking, urban achieving entrepreneurs and free thinkers who have very kindly decided to support our endeavours here in the Dancehouse Theatre. Presenting some of their new innovations in the foyer of the theatre, the Bacchus Foundation is here for your own good. They are here for your own good. They are here for your own good. They are.

    THICK RICHARD

Resident performer Thick Richard is back with tales, words, vowels and appathic squinty looks. And have a looky! He's made a new video and again, as with most of our creative practitioners, the video is. Not. Safe. For. Work. Sorry. And sorry Stockport.

Iris's every day is a haze of grey…
The City and Iris is a physical, visual and comic feast and will be the debut for the company at both venues and in Manchester. The action centres around Iris (played by Julia Correa) while 'The City' is performed by a talented chorus of five actors.

Without a set, the ensemble create Iris's world themselves. Ingeniously contorting their bodies and a length of red rope, they become the creaky wardrobe in Iris's bedroom, the books in the library and the lifelike trees on her walk to work. The ensemble also create all sound effects, from Iris's radio alarm clock to her rattling commuter train, as well as a 'soundtrack' in the form of a recurring and haunting four part harmony.

Iris's every day is a haze of grey, and today seems like any other morning. But when her glasses break in a seemingly innocent accident, she finds herself departing on a strange journey through the city she thought she knew. As the city comes to life in bewildering and thrilling new ways, Iris starts to see the extraordinary all around her - in her co-workers at the library, the prophetic newspaper vendor she passes every day, the ducks in her local pond – and even in herself!

Glass-Eye Theatre specialise in physical storytelling. Hailing from five different countries, the company work collaboratively to create image-based, physical storytelling from scratch. They manipulate objects, bodies and voices to create a unique and enigmatic world of physical theatre.

The company formed in November 2009 and trained in the pedagogy of Jacques Lecoq at London International School of Performing Arts (Lispa). Lispa teaches Lecoq's playful approach to improvisation, mime and original theatre creation.

Glass Eye Theatre recently announced a new partnership as Associate Artists with the Greenwich Theatre, London. Greenwich Theatre have also supported the tour which is funded by Arts Council England.

The cast features performers from across the globe - Brazil, England, Spain, Norway and America. Alaitz Cabriadia as The City and Vendor; Julia Correa as Iris; Cath Johnson as The City and Doctor Jones; John Michael MacDonald as The City and Jimmy; Cecilie Solberg Knudsrod as The City and Deirdre; Txema P!rez as The City and Jos!.

Cath Johnson directs. Johnson is Artistic Director of the company; after graduating from Leeds University in English Literature and Theatre Studies she went on to study Actor Created Physical Theatre at the London International School of Performing Arts. Other credits for Glass-Eye include: Emily and Zosia, which was performed in March 2010 and March 2012 at the St Barnabas Arts Festival in Dalston, East London. No Man's Land, also performed at St Barnabas, as well as Greenwich Theatre, Blue Elephant Theatre and Battersea Arts Centre's Freshly Scratched programme.

Cath Johnson Artistic Director of Glass-Eye Theatre said; "We're delighted at the prospect of sharing our own brand of physical storytelling with a wider audience. We can't wait to perform this uplifting contemporary fairytale for audiences young and old alike to enjoy."

"This group ooze ingenuity, creativity and an astute eye which highlights the funny, the sad, the bad and the mad.' 'For anyone who wants to learn to fly where they have only previously walked or see clearly what they have only ever glimpsed or throw off the shackles of self doubt 'The City and Iris' is both an inspiration and a wonderful way to help point you in the right direction. Go, run now to the box office and buy your escape ticket." ***** The Edinburgh Guide, Garry Platt

"The City and Iris is a delightful synchronicity of seemingly effortless movement and power that leaves you feeling uplifted and ready to soar, believing that the whole of life does exist as a gift to the individual." **** The Skinny, Renee Philippi

"A thoroughly contemporary urban tale that winningly combines physical storytelling with authentic drama.' 'A touchingly comic show for all audiences." Must-See, The Stage, Nick Awde

"Almost audibly humming with creative energy A vibrant slice of magical realism Haunting a cappella soundtrack An absolute joy." **** The Scotsman

"The story is whimsical, the show immaculately executed Charming!" **** Total Theatre

"A joyful, dreamlike mood. Has all the imagination needed to capture the curious kid in you." **** Three Weeks

    "A spellbinding ambience." **** Fest

The Card Shark show stars Steve Truglia, an accomplished sleight of hand expert and close up magician. Having passed the notoriously rigorous performance exam for The Magic Circle, Steve sought out long ago hidden secrets within the Magic Circle's incredible library, to further study these dark arts. In earlier life Steve's time with UK Special Forces taught him the use of psychological operations to defeat an adversary; skills which are also used by gambling cheats and con artists to this day.

    Over 18s only

Tickets are usually £50+ but the show's producer are really keen on SFF feedback.
However he has asked if SFF people would be kind enough to at least buy a £2 show programme for each person who is given a ticket, this is of course optional, but would help support the show, and enable them to continue offering tickets to SFF.

A double bill - International Business Corruption vs. Social Responsibility in the Quest for a Peerage The first is Ego of the Yogis and the second is Polyester Lordship

    Steiner Theatre inside the venue.

Search for Spirituality in this Utterly Contaminated World.

    THE EGO OF THE YOGIS

The play centres on an upper class English woman’s quest for true love and her search for a spiritual teacher. Disillusioned by her marriage she meets an Indian teacher briefly who tells her that all life is an illusion and only through yoga and meditation can one attain liberation from the cycles of birth and death. To find the teacher again she encounters a number of fake gurus and becomes more and more disenchanted with the contemporary world of spiritual seekers until her secret obsession is resolved unexpectedly.

    POLYESTER LORDSHIP

This play about the corrupt nature of many acquisitions and mergers, involving international businesses in most countries but particularly in Asia, takes the audience through the murky negotiations for the acquisition of an Indian textile factory. Aggressive executives from London deal with the shady underworld - but also honourable characters, both British and Indian, who demonstrate principled corporate responsibility to workers and the local community. An evolving relationship between two of the directors brings an element of love and compassion into the tense and very dangerous developments in the factory and the city of Mumbai as the deal progresses.

Theatre of Devas and New End Theatre are pleased to announce the WORLD PREMIÈRE of two major plays by leading poet and playwright Gopi Warrier (an Alumnus of London Business School, Ècole des Haute Études Commerciàles and New York University Graduate School of Business)

These two powerful plays deal with important contemporary themes. "Polyester Lordship" masterfully portrays the absence of corporate social responsibility to workers and consumers in the often corrupt world of international business. “Ego of the Yogis” is a more regretful yet romantic evocation of the search for true love and of the contamination of yoga and spirituality in the Western world and India, the original home of yoga.

The first is Ego of the Yogis and the second is Polyester Lordship Both plays will run consecutively from 6.30- 7:30 then 30 mins interval and 8.00- 9:20pm -

The interval will be between 7.30 -8.00pm and vegetarian snacks, home-made cakes and soft drinks are available in the cafe.

On selected days there will be discussions with writers, intellectuals, corporate leaders and spiritual teachers on the issues raised in the play.
