New Career Help

Hi guys, this might be a longish post but I'll try to keep it as brief as possible.

I have been working in the Warehousing/Logistics sector for the last 10 years (I am now 30).

I have recently moved house and moved within the company to a new warehouse as a team leader.

I have now been there a month and am absolutely hating every minute of it, it's getting to the point where I feel physically sick before leaving for work.

I have been thinking about changing careers for a few years now and really haven't done much about it until now.

I have always had an interest in computers and feel that this is the area that I wish to move into, especially in some kind of hardware/technical support area.

I am currently working towards my CompuTIA certification in essentials and then moving on to networking.

I uunderstand that this is a extremely competative world we live in and just wondered if anyone had any advice on how to procede from here.

I'm happy to take quite a substantial paycut for the oppurtunity to forge a new career where I'll be a lot happier, are there any companies that I could contact to let them know what I'm working towards etc.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read, any constuctive comments/advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Have a look on certforums.com lots of advice on there about moving into roles to use your comptia a+ n+ qualifications.
  • I'd think very seriously about it as Iknow a few people who have postgraduate experience in various aspects of computing and cant get any work.
I'd look towards doing something elce as its very unlikley you will get a job in this sector the way things are at the moment.
