Does anyone know what happens if I buy tickets on line this week for events. I assume you get an email to take to a ticket office but what about the travel cards??
Any help would be appreciated, travelling from Newcastle

Why not collect your tickets from St James' Park Newcastle?

Excellent, what a good idea. Thanks for that. Now just need to try and find some reasonable tickets to go with the ones we have.
Thanks again0 -
Good luck with that, every time I think I have the tickets in my bag they are suddenly no longer available when I try to go further!!0

Are you bothered about what event you see or do you just want to go along and see something?
If you're not that bothered then there are free/un-ticketed things you can just turn up to. I went along to see the cycling road race over the weekend and plan to do the same for the time trials on Wednesday (if I can blag the time off work!) and also possibly the triathalon next week too. The website doesn't make it very clear about how to see the free events - it sort of implies that you had to enter the ballot for a free ticket to get in, but that only applies to particular areas (usually around the start/finish) and there are lots of places you can just turn up to and watch along the routes...the course maps are available online so you can plan where you want to be.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
Yes, you get an email and you can collect tickets from any Olympic venue and a travelcard, if appropriate, can be collected at the same time.
Unfortunately, LOCOG are telling people this about Travelcards, but it's not true. The Ricoh Arean in Coventry, for example, only have Travelcards for Coventry. They will not give you Travelcards for London or anywhere else if you are collecting tickets for venues elsewhere.0 -
We've got tickets for the tennis on Thursday but are pondering staying over Friday as well. We were hoping to get into the Olympic Park but will need event tickets as park tickets are not available once the athletics start. The 'free' events might be worth checking out. Thanks for the tip.0

The details of free events can be found on this link:

The triathalon on Saturday should be really good (I know people who went along to the practice event they did last year and said it was brilliant).
There are plenty of other activities going on around London that you could go along to as well...places with outdoor big screens, family activities, arts related stuff etc. There's another thread about free/cheap things to do in London after/between events that has some good suggestions.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

Hello Alanb
I had some Olympic Games tickets and some which I had to collect. The tickets are for an event in the Olympic Park and as I was at the Aquatic Centre today anyway.............I collected the other tickets for a later date.
The ticket collection point is just outside the Olympic Park. I checked my watch as I entered the queue. It took exactly 30 minutes to reach the kiosk. I was asked to present my email ticket booking confirmation and photo id (which I did) and then I was handed my tickets and the travel cards. I was asked to sign a form, as proof/to confirm that I'd collected the tickets.
Also.........travelling yesterday (admittedly a quiet Sunday for travel) and today on the DLR and underground tube was fine. I've got a seat on every journey.
There are police on every platform, lots of train staff and loads of London 2012 volunteers everywhere.
