Adding threads to a 'watch list'

Ok so its a bit Ebay-ish in its concept but I've noticed more recently that members here revisit threads to offer ongoing updates,support and guidance-especially it seems when the thread is of a more sensitive nature.
Would it be possible to add a 'watch this thread' button where you could annonymously watch a threads progress?Perhaps limit to 5 threads per account to keep things simple?
I'm sure that many are at work during the day who might want to 'quick asccess' certain threads during breaks and linking this to a user account could at least eliminate the search process if a user is only interested in a particular threads progress.

Just thinking out loud.!

You can already 'watch' a thread by subscribing to it. Take this thread for example, above your post there is a 'thread tools' link, click it and I have the option to 'subscribe to this thread'. Click it and you will subscribe to it without having to post on it. Though posting on the thread automatically subscribes you to it if you have your options set correctly.
Then when you log in click quick links then subscribed threads. It will be listed there and if it has replies you have'nt yet read it's title will be in bold.
You can also click UserCP to see it there but I find UserCP a bit hit and miss regarding updated threads.
