Assj, all looks well, highest bidder has 99%. I had someone email me saying well done and she can't believe someone will pay that for a box! By the way, auction price is now at £101!!! :D :j

Had a very productive day today, had a FB sale of £15, £4 and £10 this morning, nabbed a free dictionary from whsmiths using O2 moments code, then bought my weekly shop (£35) for a fiver :D very happy indeed!

How on earth did you get £3o off your weekly shop? Do tell??

  • Thanks Nat for all the answers. I don't feel so daft now. Ive been using the iPad app to list items but it still seems to take forever. Hopefully I'll get better and more speedy. I've listed a grand total of 24 things over the free listing days. Tomorrow its back to work for a rest!

Car boot next Sunday with a mate who has done them before. It would be fab to make a bit of cash and clear out at the same time. If it works hopefully it'll be the first of many. We shall see!

Good luck everyone else, keep going...

ILoveTea - congrats on the grandson :)

Moneysaverme - Im almost there but a few unexpected things occurred this weekend knocking me back (20 to go but too tired!)

It wasnt all in one day though!

The key is to plan ahead. Now that free listing is over (or will be in two hours), start thinking about next time - probably in a fortnight. Schedule the listing for a date 3 weeks in advance (say, Sept 16th at 11pm) . Now it will show that you will pay 6p to schedule it, BUT, come next free listing weekend, go onto My eBay, click on scheduled listings, click on the listing and then "Revise", change it to "list immediately" (or words to that affect - its basically the option above schedule :) ) and the 6p charge will vanish :) Put a reminder in your phone of when you set the auctions to start, so that if it gets close to the date and no free listing weekends have come along, you can just go onto my scheduled listings, highlight them all (click the tick boxes) and using the bar at the top, clcik on Action > Reschedule and you can set all the listings back another few weeks.

It means you can spread the listings out and take the time to research. I use the iphone app, but on the laptop I have the royal mail price finder open, plus an ebay window to research prices.

I do intend to sit and work out the weight brackets for royal mail some day as itll be faster than using the site.

If you have similar items (say, 10 boys tshirts in size 2-3 years) try to list them one after the other. Once you have sone one there will be option to "sell a similar item". All the info from your last listing will come up again and you just edit what you need - colour, any stains etc.

Dont forget to add in a bit at the bottom of the listing to say to check your other items, you will combine postage, contact me with questions etc. HIghlight and copy it so you can just paste it into each listing rather than retype.

I did an average of 30 a day - prob 2-3 hours work depending on the items. Not all will go on in this batch as I try to sell similar items together. For example, this weekend I was doing mainly craft stuff and dessert cookery books. It means that the folk who have come to your listing because they want that particular dessert cookbook, might also be interested in the other similar books you have. You just need to tell them at the bottom that they will be interested, should have a look, and you will give them a good price on postage :)

And today I made £40 on Gumtree, but final ebay fees for the month are £10.30 so ive deducted that from the total. Still, wondering if I can have my initial £155 tripled by the end of the month...£80 in 4 days? hmm...

    Morning all
Just to let you know eBay withdrew my iPad box for sale and warned me !
"Please understand that, if the manufacturer doesn't offer the accessories or other extras as a separate purchase, those items can't be listed on eBay without the accompanying branded product. For a safer buying and selling experience on eBay, we don't allow listings for certain products that may be used to facilitate the sale of counterfeit items or enable fraud. " (eBay quote)

Well done to nat21luv who sold box before eBay rumbled the sale of empty boxes!
Enjoy this beautiful sunny day guys
