bank fees for lease extension

Hi,

Does anyone know if we need to pay the mortgage lenders solicitors fees when extending a lease?

I am extending my flat lease and i am having to pay the freeholders solicitors fees, plus my onw. Now the bank, is also saying I have to pay their solicitors fees to just look at the new lease! in addition to an administration fees!

A rip off as i am stuck with 3 solicitors fees! why should we pay so much fees to these banks!

shameful bank is Heritable bank...

any information and guidance is appreciated.

thanks
Bubsy

Sorry - but yes, as the mortgagee holds 1st charge, they must ensure that the lease extension has been executed correctly to protect their suriety. So unavoidable I'm afraid.
