Selling back tickets for Wednesday -is it too late?

Options
I have 5 Tickets for Fencing (4 are together & 1 on its own) I'm pondering again about selling them back.!! Is it too late to expect them to be bought? as they are for the Wednesday - a bit short notice.
I don't want the hassle of selling them and them not selling then having to queue up to collect them again etc etc but there's a lot of money tied up in them & it's all day & we're not sure if we want to use them as our group is split up. It so annoys me that a family can't buy tickets together because we are a family of 5 - still that's another story along with all the other nonsense I've experienced - no different to others I'm sure. Thanks anyone.

Check your account on the Locog site to see if you can resell them. I think it has to be more than 5 days to the event.
  • Sorry but you're too late I'm afraid.

Resale tickets can only be listed until 5 days before the event at which point the tickets are put back into your account and reissued to you.

If it's any consolation, my experience of the resale process is that you wouldn't have got any money back and, in fact, you have probably saved yourself some money.

I sent my tickets to a sold out event back over two weeks ago (confirmed delivery) and they have NEVER been relisted on the website for resale.

Tried ringing the 'customer services' line too many times to count. Each time you are played a two minute message (cost between 20-30p a time depending on your phone company) before being rudely disconnected due to 'high call volumes'.

These 'high call volumes' last all day until about 9.30pm at night, at which time you are then allowed through to be placed into a queue with no estimate on waiting time. You then pay to listen to a looping 60 second 'music' clip until 10pm at which time they switch the phone lines off without even telling the people waiting.

So to summarise for those considering resale...
    • You pay to send back your tickets
    • You pay to be told that they're not going to answer the phone
    • You pay to be put in a phone queue they simply hang up on
    • You pay to re-collect your tickets
    • And if you try to sell your ticket yourself at or even below face value you risk arrest

Welcome to the Olympic ticket resale!

And they wonder why there are so many empty seats!

Oh dear that sounds like my telephone calls to Virgin media lol! I've dilly dallied about resale too many times so yes we'll just embrace it and get on with it. They're not bad value really as they are an all day ticket. Thanks everyone.

ok I have a question, why are so many many people on my facebook saying they have tickets to sell?

these people include volunteers at the games and employees of organizations such as the BBC

I've also heard people say they know people with 11k worth of tickets so they are buying tickets from their friends who went overboard on the ballot and maxed out their credit cards.
