Freezing and shelf lives

Options
A while back, I bought some mince that was good for 7 days, and froze it on the day of purchase. I took it out to defrost on Wednesday, intending to make bolognese on Thursday, but other plans got in the way and it didn't happen.

Does the original 7 day shelf life it had when I bought it still apply, or have I left it too long? It's been in the fridge the whole time.

Whilst frozen I think you can keep it for up to a month(extending the life of the product)but once defrosted I would say that it should be used immediately. But if cooked thoroughly, you my be able to put what is not eaten into the fridge and have another meal from it another day.
