I take it no one here sticks to the same SM?
I like going for a nose in them all although that can cause me to unnecessarily buy extra stuff I don't need
Only place I've had an online order from is Mr As
I'm not very good at doing the price check tng either (slaps own hand)

I do - out of necessity really as I don't drive and the other supermarkets are a bus ride away. We do have an Aldi here, but I don't tend to use it. It's not so bad - the things we buy seem to be similar prices everywhere really.0

I;ve done the price comparison website a few times (not recently though...) and sainsbugs seems to come out top for the things we generally buy, so most of my stuff comes from there....
But I do check Aldi/Lidl (must use them more to keep costs down - less choice means I spend less!) - small Tesco, Co-op and Morrisons from time to time. Often just to compare the offers of course!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
I think that I am very lucky. I have an Aldi, Lidl, MRT, MrS and an MandS on my doorstep.
They are all better priced for certain things so I shop at them all. I also go to them all just before closing a few times a week to get things for a few pennies.£36/£240

I have the co-op, just a small one. It's a 70 mile round trip to my nearest big supermarket, so tend to only go every 6 weeks or so. Would love to have more access to shops but do think it helps to keep my spending down - a lot of stuff we only have access to every 6 weeks so when it's gone it's gone!

We have Aldi, Lidl, Mr T and Mr M nearby. I usually shop in Aldi and Mr T - I go to Aldi for fruit and veg as the quality and price is generally better than at Mr T. I also get some other things regularly at Aldi - e.g. houmous (which my DDs wolf down in vast quantities) is about 65p compared to £1 at Mr T for the same amount. Other things I tend to get at Mr T.
I watch the prices like a hawk and have come to know which shop is cheapest for which thing. It can be a bit of a faff splitting my weekly shop like that but it does work out cheaper with the things that I buy.
I tend not to go to Lidl unless they have a particular product on special offer, as I don't find them cheaper on the whole. Similarly with Mr M - and our local Mr M has the most irritating layout imaginable which doesn't help either!

We tend to shop in the same supermarket each week, as it's the closet to us and is pretty cheap tooBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I stick to sainsburys cause I find they are cheaper for veg and fresh meat which I use a lot of, plus I think the staff there are nicer. I find Morrisons and Asda tend to have offers on junk more than the fresh stuff.Mummy to two beautiful girls and one gorgeous boy.0

As this is a shopping thread I've moved it over to the Food Shopping and Groceries board to see if you can get more advice.

We have Sainsbury's, ASDA, Morrisons and Lidl within 10 mins walk, a bigger Sainsbury's and Tesco a bus ride away and a Waitrose and bigger Morrisons in next town.
I used to use Lidl then top up at ASDA and get a once a month delivery from Waitrose. Now that I've gone organic, though ASDA is cheapest my local one doesn't stock much apart from mushrooms and carrotsLidl only seems to stock organic tomatoes and carrots.
I'm using Abel & Cole (but not for veg), Sainsbury's and Waitrose with side trips to Tesco for organic offers and Lidl for tomatoes.
I could just go to Sainsburys or Waitrose though.0 -
Try making a list of the things you need prior to doing a shop, saves you from getting things you don't need, though can take discipline.
Can also help if you jot down the prices of anything you intend buying, better to do this before you go into any store as they tend to get stroppy otherwise. Security guards have asked what am I doing in the past, they weren't happy with me comparing the prices.
If you do ever do a price comparison, try the following:
