I know there is a slim chance that anybody might be able to ask, but thought I would try.
I really want to make some cherry ripes. I've looked on the interweb but most have tried to convince me to have a cakey base on them, and they vary on ingredients.
Just wondering if anybody had a tried and tested recipe. Thanks.

I've made Dan Lepard's Cherry Ripe Bars recipe and everyone liked them
If you use the cherries he recommends, the colour is far more shockingly pink than the photograph. I Twitter-asked him if I'd done something wrong because mine were such a different colour and he said that mine were right and the one that the Guardian used in the photograph had been made with the undyed cherries rather than the ones that he suggests. So, if you make this recipe, be prepared for the shockingly vivid colourAugust grocery challenge: £8.65/£300
