Warning: avoid My Paid Opinion

This site has just wasted my time and effort and demonstrated that they have zero respect for the people on whom they depend, those of us who provide them with information.

First, they asked me whether I would be willing to provide information on the content of my conversations on specific days. I agreed, so they emailed me a "conversation diary" which I had to print off and use to make notes. I did this. The next day, they asked me to provide details of the conversations I had recorded. They began by asking a set of routine details (age; income; where I lived and more); then moved me on to the main survey and asked for exactly the same information all over again; then said they had enough respondents in my demographic and so did not need my responses! And to cap it all, I responded to the email asking for details of the conversations within about ten minutes of it being sent!

Don't waste your time with this bunch of cowboys!

  • Not heard of this lot, but from my (limited but so far positive) experience of survey sites, I would stick to simple surveys. I've posted about ISPOS just now (they at least credit points no matter how far you get).

Most survey sites do this i am yet to find one that don`t!

I often fill in 90% of a survey ranging from 10-45mins only to get a `sorry........` VERY annoying but unfortunately it does happen.

I got a similar survey, but from a different survey company. Recording a whole day's conversations seemed like too much of a faff for the reward they were offering, so I declined. Reading this I'm glad I did! I'd have been pretty miffed if I'd gone ahead and written down conversations for a whole day, and then been screened out!!

YouGov is a respectable surveys site.

Every other one I've tried has taken me through the merry dance of getting as much information from me as it can and then saying "sorry you don't meet our criteria".

It's not My Paid Opinions fault. They just "front" the surveys for other companies. What happened was they were asked to supply a certain type of person, they checked that you fitted the bill then passed you on. Unfortunately, the survey company had had enough of your type of person by the time you got there. Not My Paid Opinions fault.

My Paid Opinion are very poor compared with others. I wanted to change my email address but their very basic website wouldn't allow it and the "contact" email address on the invites came back undeliverable! After ages of Googling I eventually found the parent site's FAQs who said they could do it only for them to change it to THEIR email address. I contacted again and they changed it to MY OLD email address despite me making clear what I wanted it to be. I haven't heard anything since.

In 3 months I have earned £95 from a few sites. I gave up on Toluna as it took long to earn and points expired too quick. I use gfk media appreciation which is prize draw based but every couple of months guarantee a fiver from a daily survey. MY SURVEY is the main one as they offer LOTS of surveys. Yes I get screened out of some but you can rack up points quite quick. They also do a "personal routine survey" like the conversation one but once you're accepted you're in and the points are yours. I haven't claimed any points on IPSOS yet.

I have to say Populus has boosted that figure somewhat as I have been building up a balance for some time. It pays when the account hits £50 but the surveys always pay well as long as you repsond reasonably quick otherwise they state that the number of respondants have been met.

For me My Survey is well worth it but between them IPSOS and Populus you can rack up some decent points to treat yourself to something special from Amazon! Just watch how long the e-vouchers you receive in payment last for if saving up for something on Amazonas some last for 12 months from the date of issue and some for 2-3 years and can easily expire if you don't keep a diary of them!

I've had a similar thing with the conversations survey from another couple of survey sites. I don't bother with them any more, really not worth it.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I agree about My Paid Opinion - I have just spent 10 min doing a complete survey to be told "We already have enough responses" on the 100% completion!! :eek:Valued Opinions is another one, they say you are not suitable for anything after answering a few questions. Similar Mint Vine , Global Test etc. Very few of these companies encourage you. My Paid Opinion is one of the worst and i cannot even get into their site to see how many pints I am supposed to have. All a con I reckon:mad:

I never used My Paid Opinion, however Valued Opinions, Global test markets are good for many people - unfortunately, some profiles are more suitable than others.

I wouldn't call them a con as most of us get paid successfully but perhaps your profile needs a overhaul?
