Employment Tribunal: basic question

Hi
I am taking my former employer to an employment tribunal. According to the forms I was sent by the court my former employer must send me a list of documents they may want to refer to in court, this form says they must 'send' rather than that I must recieve this list by today. Does this mean, as it seams to, that they only had to post their list today rather than ensure it was delivered today?
Thank you

Like you, Im reading that it must be sent by today, they have control over that, they wouldnt have any control over when it was delivered,
even guaranteed stuff can go wrong.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
thank you - think I was just thinking that for things like tax returns the deadline is generally the day something has to be there not when you send it as you could send it by any means. Also I spoke to the court on Thursday as I was in a panic over not getting my letter to my former employer on time and they never said that actually all I needed to do was post it by friday. It doesn't really matter I guess - I just had an optimistic moment when I thought maybe they'd missed the deadline and that this would be in my favour.0

From what I have read elsewhere, they could miss it by a mile and it still wouldn't be in your favour. Employers often miss deadlines and nothing is done about it.0

Thank you - can't say that that surprises me.......0

Case management directions are routinely missed, it is supposed to be with agreement of both parties but rarely is... If they over-run by a lot then contact the ET office to advise them. Altho all they generally then do is issue a letter saying the Judge tells them to comply, altho this varies by ET office, some are more strict than others.
When it comes to exchanging witness statements that is supposed to be a mutual exchange tho, ie, you both do it on the same day so that neither party has advantage by having had their opposing statement before sending their own, for obvious reasons... Not that people would 'doctor' their statements obviously
