There's something wrong with my dog?

Hi. Since 2 weeks, my dog is...different. He won't eat or play like he used to. He growls at us and tries to bite. We also noticed that he had some kind of "black spot" on his skin but I have no idea what it could be. Perhaps, a skin infection?

  • What does your vet think?

Sorry but if your pet's been acting out of character (esp for that long) without you knowing why - you need vet advice ....

That black spot could be anything from a deeply burrowed tick which is causing him to be ill, to skin cancer.

It also could be nothing at all.

Point is, none of us can diagnose here but it's clear your dog is suffering something given his behaviour.

You should not have waited so long, take him to the vet.

Welcome! :) Another vote for seeking a professional diagnosis, we can't give veterinary advice here.

I don't believe that people actually see a significant change in their dogs eating habits and general temperament and ignore it for 2 weeks and then decide the bast course of action is to ask a group of (well meaning) strangers what the problem could be, instead of sekking advice from a vet.

Some people just shouldn't be allowed to have pets.

    I don't believe it either. ;)

BUT, I erred on the side of caution, just in case.

Its disgusting isn't it. I mean my little dog went off his food for a couple of days and I was straight down the vets! I was told he was a picky eater and to try gravy covered food instead annd it worked. This poor womans dog. This is exactly why people should have to undergo a proper test to care for any animal. GRR!

Go and see the vet today if you haven't already been.

One of mine had a change of personality, still eating though and it was down to the fact that he had bladder stones that were causing him some distress. Once they were sorted, he was back to his usual self.
