Aside from direct gov/hrmc?
Looking for a simple, easily explained way to explain different terms used in employment contracts and how the tax system works in the uk?
Any ideas?

The Cutting Tax board is quite helpful if you have specific questions.Signature removed for peace of mind0

To be honest I always use the HMRC website for relatively straightforward issues, although it probably helps that I know the basics from being in PAYE for many years, and moreso from running my own PAYE system for a few years. I think if you start at the link below then follow links to whatever you're interested in you'll eventually get the idea. And as Sue says, the Cutting tax board is very helpful both for more complex questions, and by browsing what other people have asked to pick up useful bits and pieces.
