Another week passes and still no Mortgage Offer from Nationwide

What a saga.
Now going into another week by the looks of it.
Our Nationwide mortgage application has now been in progress for 8-9 weeks.
Since Nationwide took payment for the valuation survey, its been over 4 weeks and still we wait on our offer.
Not helped by them failing to instruct the surveyor for 2 weeks while telling us it had been done. Then taking a week before looking at the survey that was returned.
This week has been lost as they finally looked at our old mortgage and decided that we should be told about the overpayment reserve that needed drawing down otherwise we'd lose the cash!!!
So its been most of this week waiting on that happening because - the account drawdown took place overnight on Tuesday, but it can take 3-5 DAYS for the system to update!!
Avoid Nationwide like the plague. They are at best incompetent.

My last application with Nationwide went straight through in 10 days so bit harsh to call incompetent.
There is currently a long list of incompetent lenders so I am loath to add to it or I wont have anyone left to recommendI am a Mortgage Adviser

Well we've now found that the drawdown has progressed to the point where we have cleared funds in our account, yet Nationwide still say its not complete, so cannot issue the offer.
On to next week now.
I stand by incompetent.0 -
Assuming your not a mortgage advisor then 100% of all mortgage applications you have handled in recent times have been processed badly so I understand your stance.
At least your not with the Shabbey......I am a Mortgage Adviser

Unfortunately Nationwide are one of the slowest lenders, as soon as they query anything, then you are looking at another week, as it will then go back to the bottom of the pile (I believe lenders query irrelevant facts in order for them to stop the clock-theycan then say once they had all the info the underwriting is within their "service standards" - am I bing cynical here?)I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Yep, not a mortgage advisor. Going thru a broker for this who is as exasperated as we are about this shambles. Its not his first experience like this with Nationwide.
Their dishonesty about the timescales to process paper applications doesn't help. Their continuing "give it another day" stance annoys. Their inability to pick up a phone to call a colleague within their own business to find out whats going on is incomprehensible.
Their operators/underwriters or whatever seem happy to sit behind a computer, hitting refresh and hope that the process continues. None of them are proactive to chase anything. Sit back, relax - "Its not my house deal" attitude.
It's extremely frustrating when the problems are all being caused by Nationwide, but they are unwilling or unable to do anything whatsoever to help the situation or prioritise our case.
And don't even bother with their @AskNationwide twitter as they have mentioned here before....waste of time - no contact after 5 days.0
