Well done him! I just got home from Glasgow spring fair show; paid £3for a very good fruit loaf!! I think I must be mad, but the taste is worth it. The baker and adjacent Italian deli were probably the busiest stands there.
Why is the Scottish baker obsessed with colouring and artificial cream. i would rather eat cake only once a month, and enjoy good quality, like I used to get.0 -
his stuff is great isn't it- I go there regularly. My mum is austrian and Falko's just takes me back to my childhood when my mum ( who is a great cake maker) used to bake cakes every week. I take the walnut bread when I visit my mum - she loves it.
The baked cheesecake on a layer of baked poppyseed and the nut cake covered in a thin layer of marzipan are my favourites.
I agree - great to see a local business do so well. I have heard him on two occassions tell customers that he's not in business to supply restaurant/hotels either.
He could really do with a bigger shop though as he only has 1 table for coffee and cake ( and a second one outside in the summer).....0
