Maplin - £9.99 for 1Gb USB Stick / SD Card

Just saw an ad in London Lite - Maplin's having a sale for this weekend only (24th/25th March).

1GB Clear USB Stick for £9.99 (original price £49.99)
1GB SD Card for £9.99 (original price £59.99)
10.4in Freeview TV for £129.99 (original price £249.99)

In-store only, I think.

Staples are doing 1GB SD cards for £9.99 at present.

I wish Maplin would stop quoting 'was' prices at levels they were 2 years ago!

I normally get my SD memory cards from https://www.mymemory.co.uk. Deal out now for a 4Gb high speed SD or CF card or USB flash drive all are £17.99. Cheapest 1Gb SD card = £5.99. Suggest you make sure whichever card you get is high speed.

    Also good for rechargeable batteries.

Bear in mind there's a bit of postage cost though but nothing extreme.

In my experience Maplin aren't cheap but they do seem to be the only nationwide electronics supplier with shops so can be useful for small bits and pieces - which is where they really make their money. Bought 10 coax connectors from online retailer at a quid. As I remember, it was 2 for a £1 in Maplin!

My GF has the 2GB version which she uses on a W98 machine but you'll need to download drivers for it. Despite what it says on the card neither the website nor a google for "Buffalo RUF-C4G/U" will get you the drivers, you've got to google the VERY faint model number on the stick itself which then points you to a Chinese website where you guess which is the "download" button.
