Hi guys,
me and the other half found a house where we had a survey done and on the back of that Barclays/Woolwich has offered the full mortage amount.
From the survey it has shown that the roof has artifical slates which may contain abestos which has put us off a bit.
My question is if we decide not to go ahead with this purchase what happens to the mortage offer ?
can we use it for the next house we buy or do we go through the whole applaction process again with barclays.
Thanks
Tarkan

Typically they will use the same application and change property details, although obviously you will need to pay another valuation fee.I am a Mortgage Broker

Hi Dave,
thanks for your reply, is it that easy, sounds too easy lol espically for Barclays0 -
Little bit of grief and obviously has to be time sensitive as your payslips and statements are only valid for so long - typically Woolwich will give you upto 3 months...I am a Mortgage Broker

Also asbestos in roof tiles (if it exists - it may just be an over cautious valuer) should be no risk, provided they are left in tact.
