experian credit score

Hi all
I need a bit of advice. I have had problems with debt in the past (an ex left me with plenty of it!) i had one ccj and a default on my experian credit report - it has all been paid off and the ccj is marked as satisfied on my credit report. There has been no defaults since 2010 and all recent things on there are fine. I don'thave any outstanding debt and my credit score is now 764. Saying all that I have to have a credit check done for a job ihave applied for - is 764 a resonable score? It puts me in the 'fair' category but i am not sure what that means when it comes to a credit check?
any advice appreciated.
Thanks

The score means nothing I'm afraid, it depends on your actual history.
A random number generator would be the same use!Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
TTC since Apr 2015, baby B born March 20170 -
If you're having a credit check done for a job, they probably only want to know that you haven't got current financial problems. Their interest in your past financial history is probably not as great as if you were applying for a loan.
Hope it works out ok0 -
thank you all - just after i posted this i got the call to say I passed the check and got the job
