Kilner Jars - Help needed

I've just managed to get 15 small Kilner jars off Freecycle to use for Christmas hamper fillers
Some of the metal parts look a bit shabby/rusty etc
What's the best way of cleaning them up?
The glass and orange seals are all perfect, so I don't want any tainted metal work letting the team down

Fine wire wool will remove rust or even metal polish but I would look for new lids as these have started to rust it means the laquer has come off and they may continue to rust while the jars are sealed."doing the best you enjoy, not the best you can tolerate, is truly the best you can do sustainably."0
