Hi,
I've decided to make a chicken pie using shortcrust pastry (which I'll be making myself- first time!) and have only just realised that I don't have a pie dish!!
I do have a cake tin with an 'edge' and two loose-bottomed tins. Would any of these help? Is there anything else I can use? I really want to make that pie for tonight.

Among others, my pie dishes consist of old dining plates, casserole dish lids and foil barbecue trays. My Gran used the white enamel camping plates.
Basically you need something that supports the pastry and has sufficient depth for the filling, don't worry about a proper pie dish
If you have an old dinner plate I'd use that, if not then your sandwich cake tin should work fine - I'd line with buttered greaseproof paper to make it easier to get out of the tin.

Thank you! I hadn't thought about using any of those. I'm sure I'll find something in time.
off to make the pastry now!

You could make a pasty, a big one and then you would only need a baking tray.0
