I find it quite tough when frying, but great for slow cooking dishes like steak and ale/casseroles etc.

i personally find it a bit too tough in stir fries. It's great done in the slow cooker though. I leave it in biggish pieces, bung in a bay leaf, a chopped onion, mushrooms, stock cube or red wine (or both depending on how much wine I have) and a bit of worcester sauce. I always do a couple of packs at a time, then freeze half of it.

Most people don't cook steaks properly. You are supposed to cook it for about 30 seconds on either side on a very high heat in a pan/griddle, to seal/char the outside , then pop it in high oven for a few minutes depending on how you like it, before resting it for at least the amout of time it was cooking. Many chefs will put a large knob of butter on it, to soak in whilst resting.

This is a lot of mucking around and I suspect most people will just pan fry and then put it on a plate.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

I've always managed to cook delicious tender steaks on a griddle without using the oven. Though I do agree about resting it. Howver you are never going to be able to make a cheap tough bit of meat into fillet steak no matter how you cook it.

I'll prob give these a miss as I have plenty of brasiing steak in the freezer already
