The only bank details were my sort code and account number
Let us know how much they take from your account.
There are so many posts on here about these sorts of companies. Bank details for credit checks?0 -

As previously said, its in their T&C that there are no fees, tesco also wanted my sort code and account number on application for what they said was their checks, so would you say tesco are also "one of these companies".
Anyway, I have gone through with the amigo thing, and it says so far I have been approved for 2.5k, I just need to pass on a link for my guarantor to fill in some details and go from there so I may just tell this woman who wants 20 minutes of my valuable time to shove her call.0 -

So its a guarantor loan then, is the guarantor aware what they are letting themselves in for and are you aware what your asking them to do ?0 -
Assuming you don't plan to go down the guarantor loan route and if you are struggling a bit with repayments - it might be worth popping across to the debt free wannbe and seeing if the posters on there can make suggestions such as things you could get cheaper /savings that could be made etc to free up a bit more cash a month.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

They have offered to give an extortionate loan to someone else you hate enough to do this to who hasn't a clue how money works.
Glad you seem to have decided to chuck that one in the bin.0 -

What Apples means is that there are countless posts on here from people who have stood guarantor on loans only to lose their money. Some people are very naive and don't understand that they are liable for the whole of any debt which they guarantee. Guarantor loans tend to sour relationships, end friendships and cause bitter family feuds.
That is why he is glad you've chucked it in the bin.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -
Ahh ok, I actually haven't, I was going ahead with the amigo loan and awaiting a guarantor to seal the deal for me.
It was the other call that I had chucked in the bin which was the independant company who wanted 20 minutes of my time to go through some details, which I have just found out isnt even a lender, just an independant financial advisory company, why would aspire money tell me they had a lender for me and then put me through to them to burn my ear off for half an hour over dinner :mad:0 -

Why don't you ask the guy to apply for a loan in his own name and give you the cash?
He will get a better rate so you will repay much less than this idea of yours.
If he doesn't like the sound of that (taking a loan out in his own name for you) he most definitely fits the description I gave.0 -
Well I have never actually missed a payment in my life on anything, so I guess people just have a lot of trust for me.0
