I submitted on July 17th my SA online. I had a small refund that has already been paid into the bank.

Today a new coding notice has arrived dated the 17th July but the car benefit figures and medical benefit figures are not what I entered on my SA. Despite it saying on the back page we have changed your code based on your SA.

They seem to still be the figures from the previous year 10/11 used.

Do I need to query this now, or is it case of another notice will drop through the door with the correct numbers on in a day or so??

My Dad had that problem with a change of tax code supposedly based on his SA. In his case it was his total income which was nowhere near correct and would see him paying too little tax as he was getting the full age related allowance and shouldn't have been. The figures they used for total income bore no relation to any SA form never mind the latest.

In my Dad's case we had to query it and they amended it based on the correct figures which they asked for over the phone.

    I'd be inclined to call.

Call HMRC - You've had an automatic code issued but the benefits haven't updated probably because HMRC have yet to process your company's P11Ds.
