    Maybe a half riser and all the wood lightened with a glass bannister. I need to try and maintain the light to under the stairs.

    Not turning it into a cupboard?

    A cupboard is space - it's storage space... ;)

    If you're going to put anything under there, such as a desk, then you can't rely on light filtering through the steps. You'll need proper electricity giving off light.

    If you're thinking of putting a chair of some sorts under there, then you'll need to make sure there's a clear view of the telly.

    Or did you have something else in mind?

    You know I have bought a house and I should be feeling :j:j:j:j:j:j:j and I am feeling :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T about moving away from that little t*sspot but I think the workload and the stuff in storage and the being between two houses is making me feel distinctly MEH :(

    Sure I'll be better when I'm in in and have got the paintbrush out.

    You know what else it is, looking at the list of things I dealt with in the last house that are present in this house;
    • dark wood planks as bannister rails - check
    • swirly artex ceiling
    • ornate door handles in the kitchen
    • tulipy like light fittings
    • mint green walls in the living room

    All check - it's like I'm on a continuous 1970's renovation trip!

    Anyway to cheer myself up I've been shopping (This can only end well surely?!!!) Mainly to celebrate visiting the dentist and not parting with £200 :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j

    I've gone wild, absolutely crazy........

    1 ironing board and 1 Girl Called Jack seasonal cookbook - £24! CRAZY :eek::eek::eek::eek:

    Clearly not enough......so I went and paid £62 off my M&S card.
    :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j

    CDL £10,000 = £5,101 still
    M&S £ 1,188 £60 - £62 = + £2:wave::wave::wave::wave: BYE BYE
    MBNA £ 3,450 £3,346 - 32= £3,314

    So in total = [STRIKE]£8475[/STRIKE] £8414

    Don't worry....no more spending now until payday on Thursday!

    Is that a euphemism for something?

    OK, what's wrong with ornate door handles?
