We're having a mini olympics on thursday for about 30 kids and i'd like to make some edible medals for them. I was thinking of shortbread rounds with some gold lustre spray i splashed out on, but wondering if anyones got a better suggestion? We made some black currant jam last week so was wondering if if i could incorporate that in some way, like jam tarts with lids on then sprayed gold. What do you think?

Perhaps gingerbread (a la Christmas tree decs) would be a sturdier option? It might be helpful if they're not easily broken. Remember to make the hole for the ribbon before baking0
