No matter what age you are you should morally pay back what you have borrowed.

Your moral code says you should do that.

Another moral code says you should only pay back what you legally have to.

Moralising is a very personal thing.

I'd say that debts incurred when you were 15 are unenforceable because the minimum age for enforcement is 16. But get advice from the Citizens Advice Bureau.

I see what you are saying, I don't owe anything now, but I'd like the negative data removed from my credit report... :)

Things is, with all the other stuff you owe does one more bad credit ref. really make a difference? I somehow doubt you'll be getting any credit for a long time so any 'negative data' will be long gone by then.

Don't understand why you think I won't get credit, I have multiple credit cars with nil balance and 10K limits, I have paid many off that are not on my signature. The other items will also be gone soon, so that's not really the true picture.

Fortunately not all of my debts on my signature are in my name, so again this also helps!

Problem is I now earn more and don't need the unsecured debt, I just need a mortgage and nothing more :(

I will never take credit cards and loans again, unless it's something like 0% to make interest or something that's really safe.

If you've got multiple empty cards with 10k's worth of credit have you actually written and cancelled them? This should improve your credit score as otherwise lenders will see you have all this credit available to you and are reluctant to lend more.
Have you done everything else to tidy up/improve your credit files etc?
Have you written to the original creditor /complained to the CRA that it is not a fair and accurate reflection of the situation? I can't for the life of me remember who regulates this area - is it the OFT? Someone else will have better knowledge of this than me I'm sure.

I haven't cancelled the high limits as a thread on here just this week says it's a bad thing to do. They say on that thread that you need to show high limits and less use  I'm lost now
