Hi guys
We need our driveway at least sealed if not completely redone.Has anyone used a good contractor lately and could recommend. We're in Newtownabbey though I guess many companies are province wide. Many thanks.

Dad used David Minnis Contracts about 2 years ago. Total area covered was about 400 sq meters if not more. They were excellent and really great finish. The sign of quality was when they did all the levelling and surfacing by eye to get the runs away from buildings to the drains.
I think they have been in business for years under the same name and I see them advertising in the local Ards Spectator paper we get through the door.Regards, Robin.2011 MFW # 34
Mortgage starting balance at Sept 09 - £127,224 on 30 year term. Currently balance approx £116,945 (Updated Jan '12)
Estimated MFD - [STRIKE]Sept 2039[/STRIKE], April 2031 (in progress!)0 -
Thanks Robin
I'll give them a call and see if they'll travel across country !

I had some guys re do my driveway a while back - they were simply amazing as they did the whole thing in about half an hour... eco friendly too as within a week or so some lovely grass and plants started to grow through - to top it all off I even got a luck penny and some heather!!!
I had to pay them in cash though as they were going on holiday and couldnt get to the bank - although they promised to post me a receipt - bunch of really nice guys they were laughing and smiling as they drove out of the drive with my £1000.I am a Financial Adviser specialising in Mortgages, Protection, Health and Medical Insurance. Can you let us know if you get anyone?
Im in the same position in Newtownabbey, contacted 6 firms (initially only two).
One came out and gave what I thought was a high quote and didnt really get good vibes generally - went out to see somewhere they said they were currently working and no evidence of it!
Two made appointments and didnt show up so I rang round two more. One did call past the next day and stick a card in the door.
One said they would drive past some time and then drop a quote through the door. So I called someone else.
One asked me to text all the details which I did and never got back to me.
The largest who were recommended by 2 friends took my details and still waiting on a call back.
Obviously they all have too much work on and can afford to turn down the business. Id get the original contractors who did a great job 12 years ago but they are now out of business!
Maybe I'll just a couple of buckets of tar, a mop and a few packs of polo mints and do the job myself ;-)0 -
http://www.brianblakelycontractsni.co.uk/ based in Ards but would be worth a call
Surprised that thebrowski hasn't recommended anyone.....:)Dave0 -
Father in law used Minnis. good job, no problems 6 years later.0

I used Brian Blakley about 2 years ago to do a new driveway.
Was very easy to work with, turned up on time and most importantly did an excellent job for the price quoted.0 -
Yes Stephenni
That why I was asking for a recommendation
