I have an Endowment from zurich. I am moving out of the country permanently and so want to get shot of this underperforming fund. Any advice on either surrendering to the company or selling onto a third party. The endowment is 5 years old.

Switch fund if you think its not suitable for you. It isnt the endowment that is underperforming. If it is stockmarket linked, then you should expect it to be lower to be down over 5 years (should be getting close to break even now though).
If unit linked, you cant sell it and surrender or paid up are your only options.
If with profits, you havent had it long enough to sell to a TEP company so surrender/paid up are your only options.
If you are a higher rate tax payer or close to being one, there may be a tax liability if you surrender before 10 years.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
