New Washing Machine - Advice please

My Hotpoint Washing machine has broken down beyond repair after 15 years. Looking for advice or any reccommendations on new Washing Machine. I'm wondering whether it is worth spending a bit more money and go for a Miele? Is a 7.5kg machine a better option for a family? What machines have a short cycle as I know some of the newer ones can take over two hours. Anyone bought one recently that they would reccommend?

We've just said a fond fairwell to our Bosch after 12 years of perfect service during which time there were 5 of us plus an ageing, incontinant FIL to wash for.
Couldn't get another Bosch at the time so we got a Hotpoint Aqualtis, which is doing well at the moment (fingers crossed).I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
