Joint statement of affairs ?

I have an old debt which I got before I met my husband and I have been paying it back via payplan. However the solicitors are now chasing me and although they seem OK to set up an arrangement directly with them they have sent a form to complete with all mine and my husbands details of income, loans etc etc . The letter says they wont aceept an offer without this info plus bandk statements and payslips. However I seemed to be able to log onto their webpage and set up a recurring payment without being asked for this. However what if they chase me at a later date ?

My issue is the debt is mine and I dont want my husband to be dragged into it at all. Can I refuse to tell them his business or can they demand to know. Would a CCJ take into account my husbands finances for example ?

I am not avoiding payment - just dont want my husband to be included in all this.
Thanks for any advice.

You don't have to mention his income but you can only include 50% of all the joint expenses. What makes the SOA appear more realistic is putting his contribution to the bills down even if his income is higher than yours (i.e put his contribution to the shared household expenses fund rather than his full income) then put the full value of all the joint expenses and only your own personal expenses on any SOA you submit.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Why not leave it to Payplan?

It sounds like they're fishing for information. And who are these 'solicitors' exactly?

I would rather leave it to Payplan for ease so everything is all in one place. 3 months back I decreased my payment due to some financial troubles and that seems to have started them chasing me again. I dont mind paying via payplan or direct to them, it makes no difference to me, but I am worried they may have just got fed up and will take me to court or something. The solicitors are Dryden Fairfax. They keep calling telling me payplan havent contacted them but payplan tell me they have and I am stuck between the 2.
Thanks for the idea of showing mine and my husbands contribution and not his actual income. I am not trying to hide anything - just feel strongly that the debt is mine and he shouldnt have his info passed to anyone because of my passed mistakes.

Then one of them is not telling the truth and my money is on Fairfax. I bet Payplan could give you the dates they wrote to Fairfax and probably the dates Fairfax replied to them
