I do wish we had a Heron Foods nearby, they sell off stuff approaching sell-by date at ridiculously low prices. When last in Richmond (N Yorks) I got some individual Jamaica Ginger cake bars at 3 packets for £1 (stored them in the freezer) and bottles of Kraft salad dressing at something like 20p!
We do have a Fulton Foods, however, and that is a similar type shop. Unfortunately I think they are only northern based too. Yesterday I got 10 packs of Herta ham slices selling at 2 for £1. Lovely ham and still a week to go on the sell-by date. That's gone straight in the freezer. Along with a stock of Cadbury's Whisper ice-cream bars selling at 6 for £1.Yum yum!!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
CoolTrader have a similar approach. They have Iceland overstocks so it'e similar to shopping at Iceland but overall a bit cheaper.
I like buying the nice cheeses that are normaly £2.50 but maybe a month or 6 weeks date so are £1-£1.25. I got muller rice 6 pack (Custard/Toffee) for £1. Still had 3 weeks date on them.
8 pack pork pies are superb at £1.09. Plenty of filling (Not over-seasoned) and nice, Light pastry.
Worth a try.0
