How many glasses?

We are having around 70 people for our reception (in a marquee), so my question is how many glasses do you think we will need?
We have:
welcome drink of elderflower champagne (or sparkling elderflower water)
Toast (champagne again)
White wine
Red wine
Beer
Cider
Soft drinks
We are having afternoon tea, so no drinks during the wedding breakfast, just afterwards and all evening (apart from welcome drink).
Any idea from people doing their own catering or providing drinks PLEASE!!

Lots then. At least 3-4 per person and bear in mind you will also need to provide different types of glasses (pint, half, wine, champagne ) so probably about 6 per person maybe but I am no expert. Don't envy you washing them all up to return them though£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120

Ha ha- we will be disappearing on our honeymoon! It will be both sets of parents- though they have dishwashers.
N I think waitrose you can return dirty...
I was just planning on doing 3 types- wine, champagne and half pints- its a free bar so people will just have to go back for seconds to get the full pint! So u think 2 champagne each, 2 wine and 2 half pints... Hmmmm
Thanks.

if you speak to who you are hiring off they will probably have a better idea of how many per person to reccommend£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120

If most people are likely to drink beers from the can/bottle then that reduces the numbers somewhat.
If glasses can't be washed and left to dry between welcome drinks and toasts then that's 140 glasses minimum.
The general rule is 1 glass per person per hour. I'd use the same glass type for both wines and large highball or schooners for all the long drinks (though any children would probably appreciate a smaller glass.)
